A new prepaid model for selling computers was developed by Microsoft to be used in Brazil, which is supposed to be more affordable for the low-income population.

1,000 were already sold in four days, but the prepaid PC won't be officially launched until September 2006.

The value of the PC is estimated at $351. For using the PC you will have to buy credits using prepaid cards. Once you consume $351 worth of credits from the cards, the PC becomes yours.
