Definition:

Code Division Multiple Access is a technology used for cellular devices like mobile phones. The data/voice is sent using the entire spectrum of frequencies available, unlike GSM which uses one specific frequency. This is called spread spectrum.

Advantages of the CDMA is technology is battery power conservation, secure transmissions, higher data throughput (153.6 kbps current peak rate, new soon to be released version should have 3.09 Mbps peak rate)...

CDMA operators are available in most of the countries in the world from US and Canada to Russia and Romania.

CDMA is the major competitor for GSM. It is developed Qualcomm.
