Current CommentsMicrosoft have a very good idea doing this home of the future project... I love the kitchen because using sensor technology, a kitchen countertop can assemble a grocery list, suggest recipes based on available items in the pantry and refrigerator, and then read aloud step-by-step directions. Here, directions for how to make focaccia bread are displayed on the counter.
How cool would is this ? In the teenager's bedroom of the future, every surface is interactive. With entertainment and social connections seamlessly integrated into the walls through interactive display surfaces and touch technology, the room's design can change to match a teenager's many moods.
I'd love to see more projects like this one.. I think it's a very good idea and in the near future could have a great success...
I'm as amazed as the people were in 1970 when heard about the idea of computer, when the best computer was WAY weaker than an iphone, filled up an entire room, and was millions of dollars. Now everyone have a computer so I think in 20-30 years will be just normal to have a "home of the future"...
One of the most interesting facilities that this home of the future has is the one that you can check the inventory of your fridge and pantry via your phone while you’re out shopping.
Sounds a lot like many movie scenarios. I'm sure I saw one that featured an intelligent house capable of interacting with its occupants. I don't think my contemporary shower will learn my likes or dislikes anytime soon but I do hope one day I can just enter the shower and the water would be as hot or cold as needed without me having to adjust it. If that ever happens it will be enough for me.
