Drilldown Viewer

I am using Frx 6.7 SP9 with Dynamics SL 6.5 SP2.
Everything, including Frx has been working fine up until today. After
hitting the generate now button, the frx engine processes the report as
normal. When the Drilldown viewer starts, it errors out with: top blue box -
DrillDown Viewer will exit - Content Box - Frx error: 0.
Any Ideas?

Try re-register the MSXML.DLL file, which is located in the Windows System
directory (c:\windows\system32).

Step:
1. Locate the MSXML.DLL file on the machine
2. Right-click on it and choose Copy
3. Locate the REGSVR32.exe file in the c:\windows\system32 directory
4. Right-click on the REGSVR32.exe file and choose Paste.
You should receive a message saying that the registration was successful.
5. Try to open DrillDown Viewer again.

Hope this helps.

Hi Rick, and Thanks for trying to help! I re-registered the dll and that did
not work. I have it narrowed to to Windows Vista being the culprit. I put
FRX on 3 XP machines and on the win 2k3 server and they all are working fine.
I tried frx on 2 different vista macines with UAC on and off, run as admin,
different users, and a hundred other different settings with no success. The
only thing I did not do was build a new vista machine to determine if an
update/patch killed it. I'll keep trying, can you think of anything else
with the additional info supplied?

Stephen,

What version of Vista? I have FRx running for our company on Vista Ultimate
with no issues. I have all up to date patches except for the ones from last
night. We have a number of customers running Vista Business and FRx 6.7 SP
9, no issues. We're running it with GP, but it doesn't sound like that's
the issue. 2 things that we may have done differently:

1. We install FRx outside of Program Files on Vista.
2. For SP 9, it seems to not pick the right destination for FRx when it
'auto-finds' the install. It may look like it does, but it only really
works if you browse out to the FRx install directory manually within the
install.

SOLVED! The print spooler service was shut down (don't know why?) and on the
new imaged computers was disabled. Once I started the spooler service, FRX
worked again....Apparently FRX needs this service to run
DrilldownViewer.....Thanks for everyone's help!
