Greetings. I have Excel 2008 for Mac with all the updates. For some reason, date formats no longer work, even in a new spreadsheet. For example, no matter what the date format is, if I enter "8/8/8", that's just the way it appears. All other formats seem to work okay, and date formats USED to work okay. I have been though all the preferences, and I don't know what I did to mess up the dates. Thanks in advance! KO'D

Hi King O, Do you use an Excel template? Have you, perhaps, formatted the cell(s) in the template as text?
